North Coast’s apple sauce coffee cake is the perfect addition to any brunch or special occasion. The combination of apple sauce and sour cream make it so moist and delicious, you may have trouble stopping at just one piece!

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup North Coast Apple Sauce
  • 91 cup sour cream

Streusel:

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 apple, finely chopped
  • ¾ cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° and grease and flour a bundt pan. In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar until smooth.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until ingredients are well combined. In a small bowl, combine the next four ingredients and add to the wet mixture, alternating with the apple sauce and sour cream.
  3. Mix until well incorporated but not too smooth. Next, combine the streusel ingredients. Pour one half of the cake batter into the pan, and then sprinkle one half of the nut mixture.
  4. Using a knife, make a squiggle line through the nut mixture, pushing it into the batter all the way around the pan. Repeat with the reminder of batter and nuts leaving a nice layer of streusel on the top. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.
  5. Let cool before turning out onto a plate.
