We all know that adding apple sauce to baked good recipes will make cakes and muffins super moist, but did you know that adding it to your favorite burger recipe will give you the same benefit? It’s true. This was the juiciest burger we’ve ever had in our kitchen, and certainly called for multiple napkins. Exceptionally easy and oh so good!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef 80%/20%
  • 1/3 cup (or 1 handy pouch) North Coast Apple Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 ½  teaspoons garlic salt
  • 2 Brioche Buns
  • Olive Oil
  • Hot and Sweet Mustard
  • Brie
  • Arugula
  • 1 large firm apple (Honeycrisp, Gala, Pink Lady)

Directions:

Add the first four ingredients to a medium sized bowl and lightly mix with a spoon until combined, making sure NOT to overmix. Lightly grease a rectangular cast iron skillet or griddle with cooking spray and turn the heat on to high. Once hot, place the patties on one side, about and inch apart and cook for 5-7 minutes. Turn and cook for another 3 minutes. While these are cooking, place your apple slices on the grill next to the patties and cook until golden brown. Place the brie slices on top of the patties and then the apples on top. Cover. While the burgers finish cooking, brush the Brioche buns with olive oil and place on the griddle, cut side down. When they start to brown, spread a dab of Hot and Sweet mustard on each and return cut side down.

Plating: Place the bottom sides of the buns on two separate plates and carefully top each one with a patty. Spread desired amount of arugula on top and press down lightly with the top bun. Remember, these are super juicy so not too hard!

Note: With the taste of the creamy brie and sweet grilled apples, there really is no way to go wrong with this burger, so feel free to mix it up. Don’t care for arugula? Toss on some baby spinach leaves or butter lettuce instead. No hot and sweet mustard on hand? That’s okay, although it does add something special to all the flavors already going on. Seriously, this burger is just bursting with flavor! Go ahead and dress it with all the condiments you would normally use, there’s no messing up this one!
