North Coast Organic, we love all varietals of apples. We are especially proud to offer three delicious single varietal apple juices and sauces: Gravenstein, Honeycrisp and Gala. The other varietals we use in our blends may include: Fuji, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Jonathan, Rome, and Pink Lady.
The Honeycrisp
The Honeycrisp is one of the most sought after apples in the U.S., mostly due to its delightfully natural honey sweet taste. North Coast offers this special varietal in both a juice and sauce for those who prefer a fresh sweet taste but without the added sugar. Most people don’t believe that there is no sugar added to our Honeycrisp products, but rest assured, this apple is a real gem all on it’s own. Guilt-free!
Gravenstein
The Gravenstein apple is an old heirloom variety that was introduced to California in 1811, and has since become famous to the Sonoma County growing region, and is celebrated annually at the local Gravenstein Apple Fair. It’s prized for its crisp texture, juicy flesh, and complex, tangy-sweet flavor.
The Gala
The Gala apple was developed in New Zealand by J.H. Kidd, crossing Golden Delicious with his own Kidd’s Orange Red. The flesh of the apple is crisp and thick, with a very mild sweet flavor making this the perfect choice for those who are looking for a juice that is not over the top sweet. Now also available in sauce.
