North Coast Chocolate APPLESAUCE Cake Recipe

- 1 8" springform baking pan
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups North Coast Organic APPLESAUCE
- 1 cup vegetable or avocado oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup cream or full-fat coconut milk
- 4 ounces milk chocolate pieces
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350*F. Lightly grease an 8-inch springform baking pan.
- Add the flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder and salt to a bowl and combine.
- In a separate bowl add the APPLESAUCE, oil and vanilla and combine. Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool.
- While the cakes cools, add the coconut milk to a sauce pan and heat over medium-high heat until it just starts to boil.
- Add the chocolate pieces to a bowl and pour the coconut milk over the chocolate.
- Let it rest for 2-3 minutes to melt the chocolate and stir until it is smooth.
- Once the cake is cool, drizzle the chocolate ganache over top and let it run down the sides on the cake.
