INGREDIENTS

  • 2 large Chicken Breasts
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly Ground Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup North Coast Apple Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Wash the chicken breast with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Cut the chicken breast horizontally to make thin slices.
  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat a heavy duty grill pan to high heat for about 2-3 minutes. Lower the heat to medium-high and add the oil to the pan and make sure the entire pan is coated with oil.
  5. Add the chicken breasts to pan and cook for 5-6 minutes on the first side without moving, until the undersides develop dark grill marks. Flip the chicken breasts using a pair of tongs or a fork and cook the other side for 2 minutes.
  6. Mix apple sauce, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, chili powder and nutmeg in a bowl and pour evenly over the chicken.
  7. Cook for 6-8 minutes longer.
  8. Serve hot with a healthy side of sauteed veggies.
