(with TWO secret ingredients! no added sugar, butter, or oil!)

 

Ingredients:

 

1 avocado

 

1/3 cup North Coast apple sauce (or 1 convenient 4oz apple sauce cup)

 

1/4 cup smooth peanut butter

 

1/4 cup maple syrup

 

1 t vanilla

 

1 egg

 

1 ½ cup almond flour

 

1/2 cup cocoa powder

 

1/4 t salt 1 cup chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet), divided

 

Directions:

 

Preheat oven to 350° F.

 

In a blender or food processor combine avocado, apple sauce, peanut butter, maple syrup, and vanilla.

 

Add these ingredients to a medium sized bowl and whisk in egg.

 

Sift in almond flour and cocoa powder. Add salt and mix thoroughly to combine.

 

Stir in 3/4 chocolate chips

 

Grease an 8 x 8-inch baking dish with coconut oil and add batter. Sprinkle with an additional 1/4 cup chocolate chips

 

Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Will be done when a toothpick or knife comes out clean.

 

Allow to cool in pan before cutting into 16 squares.

 

Will stay fresh in an airtight container for 3 days on the counter or refrigerate for up to a week. Can also be frozen for a cool summer treat.
