Ingredients:
6 ounces whiskey
6 ounces North Coast Apple Cider (or North Coast Apple Juice)
2 ounces cranberry juice
1 6.8oz can ginger beer
Sugar for coating the rim of glasses
Sliced apple and sugared cranberries (recipe below) for garnish
Directions:
Dip the rims of two cocktail glasses in sugar syrup, then into a bowl of sugar, turning to heavily coat. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add first three ingredients. Shake vigorously. Carefully pour into glasses, each with a round ice ball and sliced apple. Split the ginger beer between the glasses and garnish with sugared cranberries.
For the sugared cranberries:
Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring 2-3 minutes, or until sugar is dissolved. Stir in cranberries until each is well coated. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to wire rack and let dry for at least 1 hour. (Save the sugar syrup for coasting the rims of the glasses.) After an hour the cranberries should be dry but sticky. Pour I cup of sugar to a pie plate and add cranberries in small batches to coat. Transfer to a cookie sheet and let dry for another hour. Store in an airtight container or mason jar.
