Ingredients

1 ¾ cups Warm Water (about 100°F)

1 Packet (2 ¼ tsp.) Active Dry Yeast

1 Tablespoon Honey

4 cups All-Purpose Flour (plus ½ cup for kneading)

4 teaspoons Salt

2 Tablespoons North Coast Apple Cider Vinegar

¼ cup Extra-Virgin Olive Oil

Melted Butter

Directions:

In a small bowl, add the dry yeast and honey to the warm water and set aside. You will see the yeast start to bubble.

In a large bowl, combine the salt, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil with 2 cups of the flour. Stir in the yeast. Add 2 more cups of flour in 1 cup increments, forming a ball as you go. The dough will be slightly sticky.

On a lightly floured work surface, knead the dough until smooth (about 4 minutes) adding more flour as needed. Place dough in a bowl and lightly rub it with olive oil. Cover with a towel and let rest for 1 hour.

Uncover and punch down using your fist. Let rise for another hour.

Dust your work surface with a thin layer of flour and knead dough for another minute or until you can easily handle. Cut into two pieces, rolling each one out to about ¼ inch thickness. Brush your pizza pans with melted butter before placing the dough. Let rise on pizza pan for an additional hour (oh the patience! But you won’t be sorry!).

Add your toppings of choice. Some ideas:

      Sauce

Marinara, Pesto, Alfredo, or just plain old EVOO

      Cheese

Mozzarella, Fresh Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Marinated Feta

      Toppings

Meat – Pepperoni, Salami, Italian Sausage, Canadian or Applewood Smoked Bacon, Grilled Chicken Breast

Veggies, etc. – Onion, Garlic, Bell Pepper, Tomatoes, Spinach, Olives, Artichoke Hearts, Apples, Walnuts or Pecans

Accompaniments – Arugula, Edible Flowers, Truffle Oil, Himalayan Sea Salt, Crushed Red Pepper

Bake at 500° for 10 minutes or until your crust is evenly browned and the cheese is bubbly. Buon Appetito!
