Classic Apple BBQ Sauce Recipe

Okay, so not your ordinary BBQ sauce recipe, but that's just because that we think everything tastes a little better when you add a little appley goodness. Enjoy this sweet and smoky BBQ sauce on anything that may need a little kick!

Makes: 1 ¾ cup

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup ketchup

1/2 cup North Coast Organic Apple Juice

1/4 cup North Coast Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon molasses

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple juice, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, molasses, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt and pepper.

Stir the mixture until all the ingredients are well combined.

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.

Once cooled, transfer to a jar or airtight container for storage.
