There's something about a fresh, homemade rice krispie treat, so classic and so chewy that can pull you right back into childhood. Add a nice splash of apple juice or cider and BAM! Hello Fall!

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a large pot, melt the butter with the apple juice or cider over low heat until butter is melted. Stir in cinnamon. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add the rice krispies, stirring until evenly combined.
  • Transfer mixture to prepared pan. Using a buttered rubber spatula or a folded piece of parchment paper, spread mixture to fit the pan. Gently press the mixture down into the pan until it is even and top is flat. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon for an extra burst of spice.
  • Allow treats to set for at least 1 hour at room temperature before cutting into squares.
  • Layer between sheets of parchment or wax paper and store treats at room temperature for up to 3 days.
